To Drop And Let Go is my first album of all original compositions. Very personal songs that for a long time I have felt the physical and emotional need to give life to ... I decided to face my fears, my artistic and personal doubts, to look at them directly with honesty and love and record this album, and thus to release them, to let them go…

I proposed a challenge to myself and decided to record this album with only two instruments: the double bass and the voice. Instruments that are in constant dialogue and occupy different functions during the songs and the entire album, thus giving life to the emotions and words they carry… I thank you, I thank me, I thank us and let go!

To Drop and Let Go is the second solo album by Jorge da Rocha, a unique work where the artist continues to develop his passionate expressiveness with the double bass, voice and words. A work that breaks the borders of its jazz career and incorporates it into its passion for modern and alternative music, for world music, for electronics and for songwriting.

In a constant dialogue between all the amazing resources of only his voice and his double bass, To Drop And Let Go seduces the listener in the discovery of new soundscapes and songs that show us the artist's own universe, his feelings and emotions, his experiences and the dedication to permanent personal and artistic search.

E foi assim que o encontro se ocasionou, Delelem com a pessoa que hoje sou. Estava eu dado ao labor de limpar toda esta confusão que sentia por dentro, todas estas paredes cheias lodo, verde! Enquanto compreendia que era tudo água, água e água… água estagnada, já há tempos parada, que não me deixava mentir… olhava a água suja que me servia de espelho e aí estava, Delelem. Foi assim que encontrei este ser, este mestre... Era um tipo curioso… mmm não o sei descrever muito bem, mas era mais velho do que eu, por estranho que pareça, uns nove meses, eu diria!
Delelem cuidava de toda esta água que eu tinha bem dentro. Assim que o vi assustei-me, más Delelem, ao ver-me, transformou a sua pele, cheia de escamas, num sorriso, era um ser muito simpático, amável. Disse-me que o podia visitar sempre que quisesse, que na realidade estava muito sozinho, queria um pouco mais de companhia, que sozinho era muito difícil ter a água sempre, sempre quentinha… E sim, prometi que ia voltar!
