about

This song emerges during a trip to South America, in the inspiring landscapes of northern Argentina and southern Bolivia. It speaks of two lovers who are far from each other but for a few days they meet in this landscape so different from their origins. It’s about the moment before the meeting, the meeting itself and the subsequent separation.

The theme begins with a beautiful arrangement created with the manipulation of the sound of the siku, a traditional flute of the Andes. When using such a traditional instrument I wanted to accentuate the sound contrast through its manipulation approaching an electronic environment. It is perhaps the strangest song on the record in terms of loudness, quite dark with a very serious voice. Once again the contrast arises between the poetry and beauty of the lyrics and melodic lines, with the density of the arrangement and use of electronic elements.

lyrics

Salpicando agora a minha existência
Choves-me corpo inteiro em nua pele
E pleno ardo em Janeiro ao ter-te perto

Regresso e o frio Janeiro continua a arder
Não entendo este calor fora de época
Épico certamente o reencontro
Janeiro arde pela tua ausência

O sol não caiu aqui
Mas sinto o corpo arder, o corpo arder
O sol não caiu aqui
Mas sinto o corpo arder, o corpo arder

O sol não caiu aqui
Mas sinto o corpo arder, o corpo arder
O sol não caiu aqui
Mas sinto o corpo arder, o corpo arder
